09MAR09 - What a cool day to start Blogging. So its like 0130 in the morning ..Im up as normal watching LOST, 24, Big Love, ...and all the other Shows I tivo'ed while I was on the One Love Gospel Cruise... Ill get you up to speed ... as you know I recently just got back from New Zealand (if you dont ...go read the Blog called 'New Zealand') my wife and I just got back from this awesome Cruise YESTERDAY (www.onelovecruise.com) ...every gospel Artist you can think of was on the Cruise: Yolanda Adams (actually her entire Morning Show) Donnie McClurkin, Smokie Norful, Marvin Sapp, Martha Munizzi, Shari Addison, Crystal Aikens, Jason Nelson, Jeff Majors, Dottie Peoples, Dorothy Norwood, Shirley Caesar, Comedians: John Gray, Chinitta Morris (aka Chocolate) and Marcus Wiley.. and thats just everybody I can think of right now. It was amazing ...thats all I can say ...OH ..my man James Fortune preached every morning at 0700 ...but I just made the last 2 days...and that was enough... It was so much Praise and Worshipping going on ... 1786 people on board talking about JESUS ...(Byron Cage) ...Im still remembering people. Anyway we got back yesterday ..and me and Toni drove because it was snowing when we left ...we were'nt gonna fly anyway... Oh speaking on that ...Mrs Hughes (the founder of Radio One and TV One) had the ship leave 3 hours later so we could catch people that were coming into Tampa late ...I thought that was real cool ...but back to what I was talking about ...
So we drove back to Atlanta ...and about 2 miles away from my house at a gas station I called Chinitta to ask her had she been contacted by The Gospel Comic View people on a taping time ...she gave me the womans number and before I could call her, my assistant Michele called and asked where I was at because the people from The Gospel Comic View had been calling her to give me a time to tape. I called the woman Michele had been talking to (one of the Producers) and she told me that they didnt know if I was coming because they had'nt heard from me...(because we were on the Cruise ...no contact with anyone) ... So she told me to come down and that they would TRY to get me on ...but it would'nt be a definite. So I get there at 4:30 ...Didnt even really speak to my kids ..came straight from Tampa on my way to Turner Studios with a change of clothes for TV ... I sat there and saw all my comedian friends ...and everybody kept asking 'When are you taping' ...'are you gonna get on ...cause they said you might not' ... I just kept saying to myself 'If this is what the Lord wants me to do ...then I will..if its not ...then I wont'....nobody answered me about 'when I was gonna tape' ...but they were all being nice ..you know '..we dont know yet ..were gonna see' they did that all the way until 8:58 PM .. it was now the last Show ... Chinitta was taping and I told the make up lady just put it on ...and Im gonna get my outfit on ...and we'll just do it... John Gray was the last comedian ...and when he was on I positioned myself by the entrance all the other comedians were going on and taping ...and a guy walked up with a walkie talkie and said 'alright you guyz ...thats the last comedian ...lets get this audience out of here and wrap it up' ... I was'nt even listening to dude ...I said 'theyre gonna have to physically move me from this spot ...cause I aint moving ... GOD told me to stand here ...so I am! I dont care if they let that audience out ...they can still say 'come tape and we'll edit a crowd later' .... nobody was coming close and I texted my wife this message "Baby ...they're letting out the audience ...Im gonna get this make up off my face and Ill be on my way home" ...but before I sent it ...I saved it ... and 3 seconds later a lady came out of no where and said "GRIFF ..youre next!!!" ... I did my thang ...and the rest will REALLY be history ...but wait ... so when I came off ...All the Producers said "GRIFF you did awesome ...great set' ...woo woo woo ...then one Producer came up and said 'We loved it but we dont know where were gonna put it cause were full' ... I just smiled and walked away...Then Vickie Winans who is the Host of The Show had to come out and do Intros and Outros ...and her second one was "Coming to the stage ..this brother calls himself ... The Secular Saint...now living in the ATL ...yall give it up for "GRIFF"!!!!
So what Im trying to tell people...everyone ..is that GOD is REAL ...and he moves when HE moves ...not when WE want him too ... I was so BLESSED ...FAVOR ...thats all I can say ... FAVOR!!!! Yall stay Blessed....
12MAR09 - I dont even know where to start. So yesterday (the 11th) I called all these bill places and said 'Im working on it ... Leave me alone' (smile) ...but seriously I was telling everybody that Im about to catch up on everything and I had NOTHING TO SHOW FOR.... NOTHING (just this Faith) So after I got off the phone with Nissan ...I just said 'Welp LORD...Here we go again' and laughed ...kept it moving. Today I got my Income Tax back and I wasnt supposed to get it for a month. a MONTH!!!! It just worked out ...too much to go into detail ... but the things that are happening are out of my control.
Then just now we had to take Jamisen to the Emergency Room because shes been throwing up out of both ends all day ...has'nt been able to hold nothing down. And she's just been weak... When we walked into the Emergency Room a lady was coming out almost cussing saying 'Yall might as well go back ...I've been here since 3:00pm (6 hours) and we have not been seen!!!" Me and my wife just looked at each other and was like '...WELP!!' ... We kept walking in ... On the way in I called my Homegirl who is like a Head Nurse at the hospital and she called her homegirl and we were in a room within 7 minutes...and we left after less than an hour. FAVOR .. Thats all I can say ... FAVOR ...I cant WAIT until 2morrow ...I know the Enemy is about to come at me crazy ... 2 Words ..."NO WEAPON...." Yall have a GREAT NIGHT!!! Stay Blessed!!!!
17MAR09 - Happy Saint Patricks Day to everyone thats ...what under 12 and are still pinching people? One day Im gonna have to go to Savannah and watch them make that River Green (only on St Pattys Day) Im speaking at a school this morning ...I was supposed to be at 2 schools last week but that 664 day old Baby gave the ENTIRE house a virus ...and I think my wife is next ... I was out of it until really ...yesterday ...Im 110% now. I have to call a Morning Show (www.dcandthefamily.com) this morning ...pretty excited about that ...ALWAYS love doing Morning Radio. I listened to Pastor Curneys Sermon from Sunday and he spoke on FEAR (False Evidence Appearing to be Real) ...he also expressed that 'Fear is not an option...this is a Season to grow spiritually..you should introduce your Fear into your Faith' (Good Evening Fear I'd like to introduce you into a friend of mine ... Faith, Fear, ..Fear...Faith...be nice) ...Alright ...I have to go...Have an awesome day. Ill check back in later to tell you what happened in my day. Stay Blessed!
09APR09 - Today is my mothers birthday and Im gonna call her when I get off the air ...Im on www.DCANDTHEFAMILY.com and tonight Ill be at St. Louis' House of Comedy ...My Homeboy D-LEE owns the spot but my Potna 'J-LEE' is gonna host it tonight with me and TALENT ... Loving Life no complaints ..OH...except my Homeboy Darius (Comedian) was supposed to let me up at his spot that him and Rickey Smiley was hosting ...I aint mad ...TODAY (smile) but I did meet all the comedians in The Lou ...plus my Homie "McGRIFF" and his brother "E-GRIFF" were there ... I've never been to St. Louis because I heard there were comedians who had "GRIFF" in their names so I figured I would let them have the Mid-West and I would just do the world. So Im blessed to be in another State ...we went through 5 to get here ..It took us right about 10 plus hours and we went through Memphis but on the way back were going to go through Nashville because my sister and my good friend Pastor Wess Morgan lives there as well. Okay gotta go back on Air ...Ill update when I get from the Club ... Take Care and Stay Blessed...Thank you FATHER out loud and in front of the masses for my gifts and the opportunities!
30APR09 - Yeah Yeah I know ...I know ...I suck ..cant start something then stop something ...so this is about to be the longest one of all time ..I'll break it up (smile) I've been in South Africa for a week and a day ..and this is everything that has happened to me since I've been here ..
DAY 1 - I got to the Country and realized the little $25 US that I had on me could buy me a human being over here (lol) ...sorry ..that made me laugh ...I had to change my money at the airport and the first thing I realized was I needed a phone ...so I came in about an hour early and I had to call Joe to tell him ..nobody would let me use their phone except this dude named 'Louis' .... .Then Joe picked me up and we saw about 11 people at every traffic light (they call them robots here) selling stuff from glasses, to fruit ..and even a beach ball. I did'nt have a show that night but we did have dinner with Annette, Tony and Lindsey ..at a Casino called The Silver Star..and they had this fountain that they stole from the one in Las Vegas that has the music playing ..its actually the world's 2nd biggest one (fountain) ... Annette ws celebrating her BDAY (Oh Annette is the lady I met in New Zealand who said 'they would love you in Johannesburg'...shes psychic too I think) but Annette let me have her room at the Casino and instead of staying at the Bed and Breakfast ..that night I stayed in a Casino.
DAY 2 - Annette came and got me from the Casino and took me on a Safari ...to the Game Park ..where the Lions and tigers and rhinos are free and wild ...you gotta stay in the car. It was awesome ..we didn't get to see any lions (I dont think they got the memo ..but we saw some cool other stuff)
then after we left the Safari ...can you believe I was in the same cage as those animals ...it was bannanas ..but you know me ...ALWAYS doing something different when I'm out of the Country. Annette then took me to what I'm gonna just call a Cultural Village and we hung there for a couple of hours
The lady thats spreading stuff ..thats animal manure and they spread it all day ...I still dont know what that lady was chopping up ..and the things on that plate is that grub in the tree ... Okay ...thats enough for the frist 2 days ...and I'll keep filling them in okay .. Stay Blessed
09MAY09 - I JUST HAD TO put this video up ..I learned this poem while I was in South Africa ...all the people I hung out with are about this PHRASE!!!
08AUG09 - It's been three months before I was able to get back to my logs ...MAN alot has happened really I gues I haven't been able to access it since I got back from Johannesburg (What a trip) so many awesome people that I still talk to ...I was with DJ DRAMA at this Madden Event the other day and he was over there with FIX and SUEDE and all the people who make me wanna come back to Africa 2MORROW...Let me figure out how to load videos again and add this Madden Event before I forget (smile) Actually I just tried and they won't let me...Okay so let me just go from here ...I'm in Lodi, California right now waiting to start this 20 Year Class Reunion ...Yes 20 YEARS, I have'nt been back to Lodi for 20 years I dont recognize ANYTHING ... some street names but thats it. I got a chance to hang out with my 1st cousins, Aunt and my brother yesterday (me and him went to see G.I. JOE) it was good but I din't like the main characters acting ...it was horrible!!! But he got his loot! Back to being in Stockton and Lodi ... I'm going to a Pre-Reunion BBQ in a little while but I don't remember a whole lot of peoples name ...I barely remember my kids names ...I'll look right at my daughter and say "Branden come here!" It was awesome seeing my cousins ...haven't seen them in a decade ...Were going to have like a Cousins Reunion (We don't need the whole famiy) ...its time for our generation to get some love ...just us and our kids so I'm working on it. Hall of Fame inductions are today, Rod Woodson (former Raider) but I think he's going in as a Steeler (you can't be mad at him) Well I'll hit you guyz later and tell you how all of this went!
10AUG09 -Late Late Monday night and I'm still up watching old stuff I tivoed while I was in CALI. Watched, WEEDs, Nurse Jackie, Atlanta Housewives ...and Ice Truckers (I know ...its a long story) bottom line, I know about the 'Jake Brake.' (smile) Been home all day just relaxing... my daughter (Justice) and Marcus (16) started school 2day. Marcus got 'live' with Toni while I was in California so he wont be wearing any new clothes this week ... He looked crazy as hell this morning (it was either that or KILL HIM) ... Parenting aint no joke LOL. You gotta be crazier than they think you are ... I remember telling him one time the next time you get in trouble you can keep clothes on and IM gonna get naked and then you'll have to go to school and tell people to stop talking to you during class or your fathers gonna get naked and make you wear a london fog full length jacket while he listens to Broadway Hits off of SIRIUS. (Maybe I was kidding ...maybe I wasn't) Back on the AIR 2morrow with DC & The Family ...just waiting to be back in a Studio! I'm ready ...and I want it ...
